A mentorship and coaching program for brave young writers who dream of publishing a book—and are ready to try for it!
Students age 9-13 will write and edit a collection of short stories, poems, or a whole novel to submit to Stone Soup’s 2024 Annual Book Contest on August 16! Students should expect to write outside of the sessions as well in order to achieve their goal of contest submission.
For Art of the Author, students receive 1-1 coaching and mentorship.
For Art of the Author: Buddy Up, students can register with a friend or sibling and receive 2-1 coaching. Together, they will meet and either create a single project or work on individual projects together. Pricing is adjusted to reflect semi-private rates.
Supplemental sessions are available if students need or want more support after the 12 session series.
Both Art of the Author and Art of the Author: Buddy Up include:
Guidance and mentorship from a published, New York Times-reviewed author
Encouragement to attend Creativity Club each week to find community and support
Accountability and goal tracking
Inspiration and motivation from other published writing
Short bursts of supported writing time followed by reading aloud and real time feedback
