Writing Coaching for Kids & Teens

WWB’s unique 1-1 coaching programs for kids and teens support, strengthen, and demystify writing in the safety of a positive, supportive 1-1 dynamic—and, believe it or not, they’re just downright joyful.

Want to stay in the know about new programs designed to empower young people to write?

Writing for Your Future Self

The program at the heart of Write Well Brooklyn.

Students age 10-16 practice voice-driven personal narrative writing that will yield future successes—and a stronger sense of self.

Great for the admissions essay practice students rarely get in classrooms; building confidence; gaining writing skills; and strengthening voice.

Twelve 1-1 sessions, online (or in Park Slope). Spring and summer only.

Writing for High School

A favorite series for summer.

Rising 9th or 10th graders strengthen the writing skills they most need for high school: critical thinking; answering challenging prompts; working around the “stuck” feeling writing can create; and basic essay structure.

Ten 1-1 sessions, online (or in Park Slope). Summer only.

Get Going Program: NYC

New York, this one’s for you.

8th graders applying to NYC and Brooklyn high schools will brainstorm, write, revise, and polish a minimum of one admissions essay (500+ words). Along the way, they’ll gain skills, confidence, and a stronger sense of voice.

Six 1-1 sessions, online (or in Park Slope). Fall/winter only.

P.S. If students don’t complete the essay in six or fewer sessions, you’ll get one more gratis.

Get Going Program: College Edition

The coaching that started it all…

High school seniors tackle a college admissions essay from soup to nuts—overcoming the common hurdles (from perfectionism to simply not knowing what or how to write this beast) along the way. WWB doesn’t guarantee how many sessions a senior might need, but ten is typically enough to create an authentic, powerful, successful essay in the student’s own unique voice.

P.S. College essays are a longtime specialty and inspired Write Well Brooklyn to go beyond your standard tutoring.

Ten 1-1 sessions, online (or in Park Slope). Summer/fall only.
